Case studies of companies over the years have shown, amongst other traits, how the highly successful companies are a collection of leaders. The institutions that have been around for decades – a great deal of their success has been due to the continuity of leadership that they have experienced.

Regardless of the size of the company though, or how long it has been in existence, leaders do not just appear – they need to be developed. Typically, through a combination of both theory based on observation and then practice.

How we come in

The Headrush approach to leadership development is three-fold:

  • Step 1: Allocation
    • Headrush Leadership Development events are usually longer in duration, spanning a number of days. Prospective leaders are usually allotted teams of outsiders and are made to lead them through a series of different activities and challenges.
  • Step 2: Feedback and Theory
    • What are the clearly visible barriers to strong leadership in the candidate?
    • These barriers get highlighted over a few days as they guide their teams through the different activities
  • 3. Step 3: The Application
    • If a barrier has been found, solutions are suggested to the prospective leader.
    • These suggestions are then applied. If there is a change for the better – a very strong experiential learning experience gets created.

Summary

The activities in themselves are highly engaging. But they are only a medium – the goal is the client's requirement. Therefore, every leadership development programme, is unique, and will be determined upon meeting with the client and trainers and gauging:

  • Current traits of their prospective leaders
  • The traits that they'd like to gradually instill in them

Activities are then customized by the trainers to whatever length they need to be, in order to best achieve the client's requirement.
